Akanoi Bay prior to the reconstruction of the Yasu River

@

The bay was once one of the best fishing banks in Lake Biwa.

Riverbed water welled up abundantly around in the area stemming from the south branch of the Yasu River.

Thanks to the purification function of creeks and marshland, water in the bay was so clean that one could see through to the sandy bottom of the lake.
